Apple Pay and Google Wallet let customers check out in a couple of taps using the card already saved on their phone. They reduce friction at checkout and are especially popular with mobile shoppers.
What you need first
Apple Pay and Google Wallet work through your existing Stripe connection, so make sure Stripe is set up and active before activating these options.
Step by step: Apple Pay
- Go to Settings > Payment Options > Stripe in your dashboard.
- Click Activate Apple Pay.
- Enter your website domain and submit to verify it with Stripe.
- Once verified, Apple Pay will appear as a checkout option for customers using Safari on a supported Apple device.
Step by step: Google Wallet
- With Stripe active, Google Wallet becomes available automatically as a checkout option for customers using a supported Android device or Chrome browser.
- No separate API keys are required it uses your existing Stripe connection.
Tips
- Test on an actual supported device (iPhone for Apple Pay, Android or Chrome for Google Wallet) these options won`t show up on unsupported browsers.
- If Apple Pay isn`t appearing at checkout, re-check your domain verification in Stripe.
