Bloomkeeper

Your Google Preview Text

When your shop comes up in Google, the blue clickable line and the grey text underneath it are your page title and summary line. Bloomkeeper calls this your Google preview text, because that is what it is.

They do not change where you rank on their own, but they decide whether someone clicks you or the shop below you.

Finding the gaps

Open the Metadata screen for titles and preview text from the menu, or ask "what pages are missing titles". Bloomkeeper lists every page, product and category with missing or weak preview text, worst first.

What it writes

Bloomkeeper drafts the title and summary line for each one, in your brand voice, with your suburb and delivery detail where it matters. A good florist title says what you sell and where you deliver, because that is what people are searching for.

The drafts go to Ready for your okay unless you are in Auto mode.

Reviewing them

Read the first few properly. They follow a pattern, so if the pattern is right the rest usually are too. Watch for:

  • Suburb names spelled the way locals spell them
  • Anything that promises a delivery time you cannot always hit
  • Your shop name where it belongs

How long until Google shows the new text

Google re-reads your pages on its own schedule. A few days is normal, a couple of weeks is not unusual on a quiet site. Google also sometimes writes its own summary line regardless of yours. That is normal and not a fault on your site.
