Adding Gift Vouchers to Your Site
Once gift vouchers are set up, customers need to actually find and buy them on your website. This is how you make sure vouchers are visible and easy to purchase alongside your regular products.
What you can do here
- Add a gift voucher product or link to your website`s navigation or homepage
- Set up a simple, memorable link for customers to buy vouchers
- Feature vouchers during gift-giving periods like Christmas, Valentine`s Day, and Mother`s Day
- Make sure customers can find vouchers without having to search for them
Your standard gift voucher link is https://domainname.com.au/cgi-bin/cart/voucher.cgi. If you`d rather use a simpler link, such as https://domainname.com.au/voucher/, add this to the canonical field in the form and then ask support to set it up for you.
Voucher Redemption
To redeem a voucher the link will be:
https://domainname.com.au/cgi-bin/cart/marketing.cgi
Step by step
- Make sure gift vouchers are enabled and configured first see -Activating Gift Vouchers.
- Go to your Dashboard > Design Dashboard > Navigation.
- Add a link pointing to your gift voucher page, using either the standard link or your simpler link.
- Preview your site to check the link works and the voucher page displays correctly.
- Save your changes.
Tips
- A dedicated "Gift Vouchers" link in your main navigation performs better than burying it in a footer customers buying vouchers are often browsing with intent.
- Consider featuring vouchers on your homepage in the lead-up to major gifting occasions.
