Cancelling Gift Vouchers
Sometimes a customer changes their mind or a voucher was set up in error. You can cancel a gift voucher, but it pays to check whether the code has already been redeemed before you delete anything.
What you can do here
- Check whether a gift voucher code has been redeemed
- Cancel a voucher that hasn`t been used yet
- Cancel a voucher that has already been redeemed for credit
Step by step
- Go to Marketing & SEO >> Marketing Tools >> Gift Vouchers
- Click Reports in the top right hand corner
- Enter the voucher code in the top search bar and press search - this will show you whether the code has been redeemed
- If the code hasn`t been redeemed, go to Marketing & SEO >> Marketing Tools >> Redeemable Credit Notes, search for the code, and delete it
- If the code has been redeemed, click the name of the person who redeemed it to open their customer profile
- In the left side menu of their profile, delete the credit note
Tips
- Always check the Reports section first so you know whether you`re cancelling an unused code or a redeemed credit note
- Double check the voucher code before deleting anything - this action can`t be undone
- If a customer has already spent the credit, you won`t be able to cancel the voucher
