After Moving Your Website: What to Set Up by Hand

The website migration skill moves almost everything across from your old website, but a few things work differently on Flower Store In a Box and need setting up in their own way. Claude lists every one of them in the review sheet, under Needs setting up by hand, and again when it finishes.

What to set up by hand

  • Gift vouchers and gift cards. These are not copied as products, because Flower Store In a Box has its own gift voucher feature. Set your vouchers up there. Your old voucher page already redirects to the new one.
  • Workshops. Workshop products and pages belong in the Workshops feature, not your shop. Claude keeps the wording in the review sheet so you can copy it across.
  • Contact forms. Forms from your old website are left out. Your new site has its own contact form.
  • Videos and background banners. These are left out of page content. Add videos and banners back using your new site`s own tools.
  • Pages your designer built. If your new site has a page your designer laid out, such as your About or Contact page, Claude does not overwrite it. The old wording is in the review sheet for you to use if you want it.
  • Products marked CHECK. A product with more than 8 price combinations is simplified, and marked CHECK so you can look at its prices.
  • Products marked as alcohol. Products that include wine, champagne and the like are marked as alcohol automatically. Check the list is right.

Your redirects and Google

Every old page address now redirects to its new home, so Google and your customers land on the right page. The redirects only start working once your website goes live and your domain points at Flower Store In a Box. Until then, your old website keeps running as normal.

After launch, it can take Google a few weeks to catch up. If you spot a broken link or a page that is not where it should be, ask Claude to fix it, or let us know.

Look it over page by page

Before launch, click through your new site on your phone and your computer. Check your top products, your categories, your delivery page and your About page. It is your website, and you know it best.

Once you are live, Bloomkeeper takes over getting you found on Google and in AI answers.
