Alcohol Sales
If you sell champagne, wine or other alcohol alongside your flowers, this setting adds the compliance steps you`re legally required to have at checkout.
What you can do here
- Restrict Alcohol stop customers from purchasing only alcohol, so every order includes flowers as well
- Alcohol Checkbox add a tickbox to checkout confirming both the customer and recipient are over 18 years old
Step by step
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Checkout Options and find Alcohol Sales.
- Mark any relevant products as containing alcohol in Products so these settings only apply to the right orders.
- Turn on Restrict Alcohol if you want to stop customers buying alcohol-only orders don`t use this if you have bundled products or hampers that contain alcohol, as it may block those from being purchased.
- Turn on Alcohol Checkbox to add a tickbox at checkout confirming both the customer and recipient are over 18.
- Save your changes will apply to any order containing a product flagged as alcohol.
Tips
- Check your local liquor licensing rules requirements vary by state and it`s worth confirming your setup meets them.
- If you sell hampers or bundles containing alcohol, leave Restrict Alcohol off so these products can still be sold on their own.
- Only flag the specific products that contain alcohol, so the extra step doesn`t slow down customers buying flowers only.
