This screen lets you add extra delivery charges based on the building type or destination a customer selects.
What you can do here
- Add surcharges for specific building types (hospital, apartment, hotel, etc.)
- Set a dollar amount for each location type
- Enable or disable the building type selector at checkout
How it works
Set up a building type (e.g. "Shopping Centre") and a surcharge amount. When a customer selects that building type at checkout, the surcharge is automatically added to their delivery fee.
Where building types appear at checkout
Customers choose their building type as part of entering their delivery address. See the Delivery Location & Building Types Overview article for how building types are set up and displayed.
Step by step
- Go to Location Surcharges in the Delivery menu.
- Enable the building type feature if it is not already on.
- Add each location type and its surcharge amount.
- Save - customers will see a building type selector at checkout and the surcharge is added automatically.
